Special Programs

The hallmark of Little Graces has become our LAMB Program; Language, Arts, Music and Beyond. Through LAMB we will provide specialized instruction in a wide variety of subjects such as Spanish, sign language, experiential art, interactive storytelling, music fundamentals and appreciation, instruments, creative movement, hands-on science, and cooking/nutrition. We believe that the breadth of these enriching opportunities is essential to the development of a happy, challenged, and well-rounded student.

Through your suggestions and insight, we continue to discover new and better ways to serve our students, staff and the community. Thanks to the generous support of our community, our Little Graces have experienced an array of wonderful programs:

Special Programs for 2007-2008:

Each classroom will participate in one special each day they are in session.

1. Music/Movement: includes opportunities to explore music and sound through active involvement in singing, moving, listening and playing instruments; drama and creative expression as well as fundamental physical education skills.

2. Art: process not product is emphasized, experiences with drawing, painting, colors, line/shape, and various mediums will be offered.

3. Hands On Science: opportunities to explore animals, plants, rocks/minerals, and our world through hands-on activities, stories, and music.

4. Spanish: an introduction to the language and culture, basic vocabulary (colors, numbers, greetings, family, animals, etc.) taught through games, songs and other activities.

5. Interactive Story Telling: includes interactive stories and songs relating to a theme. Basic sign language is also utilized.

Your tax-deductible LAMB Annual Fund contributions have also allowed our teachers to attend innovative workshops and to implement their new skills in the classroom. Most importantly, your LAMB Annual Fund contribution will allow us to continue to expand our scholarship program so that all area children have the opportunity to join us at Little Graces.
